Nearby: Waikanae beach is a safe sandy beach, great for swimming, boating (boat ramp very close, boat can be launched by tractor for a small fee), long relaxing walks and has beautiful views of Kapiti Island. It is a short drive to Lindale Tourist Complex, Southward Car Museum, swimming pool, golf and bowls, with native bird reserves nearby to explore.
